Tropical Storm Debby made landfall in Florida this morning, and it’s impact will be felt in Moore County later this week. The main threat from TS Debby will be the amount of rain it is expected to dump into our area.

The heaviest rain in our area will be seen on Thursday and Friday, with flashing flooding a possibility. The current path of the storm from the National Hurricane Center has the center of Debby in our area on Friday morning.

The highest potential of flooding will be towards the coast, Moore County is currently under a slight risk of excessive rainfall.

Tropical Storm force winds could be seen in our area starting late Wednesday night. This could cause trees to fall into roadways and onto power lines.

Moore County News in association with North Carolina’s Weather Authority will be keeping a close eye on Tropical Storm Debby over the next week, and will keep you updated on any potential impacts.
