One person was injured in a crash on U.S. 1 in Vass on Saturday.

Several witnesses called 911 just after 2:45 p.m. to report a Volvo traveling north on U.S. 1 bypass was swerving, ran off into the median and collided with the guard wiring, based on scanner traffic.

Vass Police arrived on scene just south of the James Street bridge within minutes. One lane of U.S. 1 north was closed while the driver could be evaluated and loaded into the ambulance.

Moore County EMS transported the driver to the hospital with what are believed to be minor injures.

The crash is under investigation.
