A single vehicle crash on Highway 211 at the intersection of Dead Man Curve Road caused damage to a fire hydrant, and closed one lane of the highway for approximately 30 minutes.

First responders were dispatched to the collision around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. When members from Seven Lakes Fire & Rescue arrived to the scene, the car was smoking around the hood.

At the time of the crash, a heavy rain was in the area.

According to the N.C. State Highway Patrol, the driver lost control of the vehicle, went of the right side of the road, collided with the fire hydrant before coming to a stop in a ditch. The driver was not injured.
