The driver of a semi-truck escaped injury after his vehicle overturned on N.C. Highway 211 in Aberdeen on Tuesday morning. The crash happened where 211 and N.C. Highway 15-501 intersect.

According to the Aberdeen Police Department, the driver was turning left onto Hwy 211 from 15-501 southbound, and the weight of his cargo caused the vehicle to roll over onto its passenger side. The truck was transporting wood chips.

Because of the heavy weight of the cargo, tow crews were unable to life the truck back upright. Special loader equipment was brought in to empty the back of the overturned trailer. Once emptied, the Aberdeen Police Department shut down Hwy 211 so that tow trucks could move into position to upright the semi-truck.
