The North Carolina State Fair is underway, which means people cheating on their diets and trying food only the fair can serve up.

People from all around the state flock to Raleigh to take in the fun and food of the fair. And for nearly 15 years now, Pik N Pig has been showing fair goers how Moore County residents enjoy their BBQ.

Ashley Sheppard, owner of Pik N Pig, arrives to the fairgrounds every day way before the gates open to start smoking the meat for the day.

Pik N Pig’s State Fair menu includes the famous BBQ Sundae, a mix of meat, baked beans, and Cole slaw served in a cup. It’s one of the most popular food items at the State Fair.

If you are at the fair and want a taste of home, find Pik N Pig located to the east of Dorton Arena in front of the big slide.
