Justen Lawrence Waegner, 29, of Cameron, was arrested on Monday after the Moore County Sheriff’s Office received reports of sexual abuse of minor children.
According to a press release from the MCSO, between May 14 and June 27, their office received two reports regarding the sexual abuse that was alleged to have happened “over a period of years.”
On Monday, Sheriff’s investigators arrested Waegner in connection with the incidents. According to MCSO, Waegner attempted to flee on foot during the arrest, but was quickly caught. They also say one of their vehicles was damaged during the arrest.
Waegner was charged with several felony charges, including one count of first degree forcible rape, six counts of sex offenses with a child. Other charges include one count of indecent liberties with a child, one county of resisting, and one count of injury to property.
Waegner was jailed at the Moore County Detention Center without bond, and will make his first court appearance on July 24, 2024.
